Earlier this year, a European client placed an order for a specialized dog treat production line. While the confirmation of the order was a significant milestone, for us, the real service had only just begun.
As this was the client’s first venture into the dog treat industry, his knowledge regarding the technical aspects of the equipment was understandably limited. This led to a series of more than a dozen complex technical inquiries. His questions spanned a wide range of critical topics, including the precise dimensions required for the installation foundation, effective methods for reducing product moisture, and the optimal selection of forming dies. Due to the time difference, many of these questions arrived late at night—around 5 PM for him and 10 PM for our team.
Our response was guided by a commitment to absolute clarity and speed: we ensured every single question was answered comprehensively within 24 hours. When text descriptions proved insufficient, we provided detailed technical diagrams. If diagrams were still not enough to convey the necessary information, we took the extra step of filming real-time demonstration videos. For instance, when he inquired about the specific procedures for cleaning the extruder, we simply had a workshop technician operate the machinery while we recorded the entire cleaning process for his review.
Despite this thorough communication, the most pivotal moment for establishing true confidence came during a live video call. The client expressed a natural concern: “I can’t come to China. Can I at least see what your factory really looks like?”. We immediately agreed to his request.
Using a mobile camera, we provided him with a virtual, comprehensive tour of our entire workshop. We walked him through every stage of our manufacturing process, including:
- Fabrication: Precise sheet metal cutting, followed by professional welding and grinding.
- Assembly: The intricate process of electrical assembly.
- Quality Assurance: Final machine testing, during which he witnessed an extruder undergoing active performance checks.
The transparency of the tour allowed him to observe even the smallest details, such as the organized stacks of high-grade stainless steel sheets in our warehouse. At one point, he noticed an unfamiliar item and asked, “What’s that white box over there?”. We were able to explain on the spot that it was our oven insulation material, highlighting our use of eco-friendly, A-grade materials.
Seeing these operations in real-time transformed the client’s perspective. On the other end of the video, we saw him smile—not out of mere politeness, but with the genuine relief of a heart set at ease. Shortly after the call, he sent a message that summarized the impact of our efforts: “I never flew to Jinan, but I feel like I’ve already visited your factory. I trust you”.
This experience highlights a fundamental truth in international trade: trust is not built solely on contracts, but on the relentless demonstration of transparency and care. The client later confided that his primary fear was being ignored once the final payment was made. By providing a window into our daily operations and responding to his needs with technical precision, we proved that we care about the success of the project even more than he does. Though he never set foot in our facility, he has become one of our most trusting and valued partners.
